Correction of Upper and Lower Case Issues in Axys

Axys data was unreliable due to their inconsistent use of upper and lower case in filenames.  Though the client preferred to keep all files names in lowercase, at some point the case of a seemingly random group of files was changed to upper case. We created a program to rename upper case performance and client files back to lower case as required by the client.

Custom Interface for SEI

Created a custom data interface for SEI's point to point interface by utilizing the generic Axys interface, and creating the necessary transaction mappings for SEI.

Encore

Encore enables users to customize and package multiple reports from from Axys, APX, Office Applications, et cetera via PDF file format. As files are created the information is stored in a table which can be referenced later to bring frequently used report packages up quickly and easily.

Excel Audit File to Audit Population Queries for Composites

PQ Check is an Excel spreadsheet with macros that enable PQ Check to populate Axys, or APX performance data for a given time period, group, and set of asset classes. Significant flows are taken into account as each month end performance figure is calculated. PQ Check also color codes each Excel cell red, or green based on whether market value requirements, and other composite requirements are met. The result is the ability to view and audit several years of performance data at a glance. This is an important tool for those who build, and need to do quality control on their composites.

Extract Reporting Module for Axys (ERMA)

ERMA creates a comprehensive account summary with tables, charts and graphs by collecting data from several Axys reports via a system of scripts, macros and custom reports. Once the data has been collected, reports are generated via Excel and Visual Basic. Reports that were previously created manually can be generated in seconds with ERMA. 

Label Replicator

Created label replicator to take labels from Axys client files, and add them to performance files.

Lock File Utility

Occasionally, Axys, or the workstation Axys is running on locks up while editing, or creating files. These unexpected exception result in the creation of lock files related to licenses and other data files. This program searches all directories in and below the Axys root directory to find lock files. Once the lock files have been found they can be selected, and deleted.

Performance Management Reporting Module

Our performance management module pulls data from Axys, and APX.  This module allows clients to generate informative reports that detail the select time period performance of indices and accounts in ways that would be difficult to do in Axys and APX. The reports break down asset class returns, and can be sorted and filtered based on total assets under management per relationship. Given this flexibility, the reports are frequently used by top level managers to review performance of investment managers. They can also be used by investment managers, and operations staff for quality control purposes.

Performance Plugger

Cash returns have always been a problem in Axys. The nature of performance calculations made by Axys skew the cash performance values. In order to address this issue many clients that report cash performance returns are forced to manually plug returns. This program automatically plugs cash returns that are outside of a given range for a selected time period with a manually computed cash return figure. This program is typically run one period at time.

PQ

PQ, or Population Query, was designed to break a universe of Axys accounts into sub groups and products. Working off of custom labels, market values, and asset class percentages PQ allows users to define products. Once these products have been defined PQ actually creates the .CPG, .PBF, and .GRP files required to utilize Advent's composite reporting features.
